CIPS qualifications provide best practice education programmes for the procurement and supply profession.

Each qualifications is a vocationally related qualification, accredited by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulator

(Ofqual) in the UK and appears on the Register of Regulated Qualifications.

Starting with March 2013, five new qualifications are replacing the previous six levels.

Level 2 – Certificate in procurement and supply operations –  consists of five compulsory units:

  • Procurement and supply principles
  • Procurement and supply functions
  • Procurement and supply processes
  • Procurement and supply adminstration
  • Procurement and supply stakeholders

Level 3 – Advanced certificate in procurement and supply operations consists in five compulsory units:

  • Procurement and supply environments
  • Procurement and supply operations
  • Procurement and supply workflow
  • Inventory and logistics operations
  • Procurement and supply relationships

 

Level 4 – Diploma in procurement and supply – requires the completion of five compulsory units:

  • Context of procurement and supply
  • Business needs in procurement and supply
  • Sourcing in procurement and supply
  • Negotiating and contracting in procurement and supply
  • Managing contracts and relationships in procurement and supply

Level 5 – Advanced diploma in procurement and supply – consists of three compulsory units:

  • Management in procurement and supply
  • Managing risks in supply chains
  • Improving the competitiveness of supply chains

Additionally you must choose two optional units from a choice of three:

  •  Category management in procurement and supply
  •  Sustainability in supply chains
  •  Operations management in supply chains

Level 6Professional diploma in procurement and supply - consists of three compulsory units:

  • Leadership in procurement and supply
  • Corporate and business strategy
  • Strategic supply chain management

 Additionally you must choose two optional units from a choice of three:

  • Supply chain diligence
  • Programme and project management
  • Legal aspects in procurement and supply (UK)
